Stanley Family Reserve

A fun little "side project" we recently designed for Paul Stanley of KISS: His friend in Uruguay, who is the owner of the Yellow Rose Vinyards in Punta del Este produced a limited run of Pinot Noir wine for Paul’s personal Stanley Family Reserve for which we designed the label featuring one of Paul's paintings. It was packaged in a beautiful 3-bottle box and gifted to his friends.

    About This Project

    Oftentimes we get asked how a project starts and what kind of briefings we are given. Since this was going to be our first project with Slayer, we asked to have a call with the band to hear what direction we would be given. As the band was on the road, management communicated to us that the box itself is to reflect an “old ammo” case. That was it. Off we went to the local Army Surplus shop and luckily, we found the perfect-looking box. Thematically certainly unusual for us, but therein lies the challenge to come up with a strong and convincing result. The band was pleased with the result apparently and hired us again for several other DVD and album projects. Very nice guys, by the way.
