- Odds and Ends -

A fun little "side project" we recently designed for Paul Stanley of KISS: His friend in Uruguay, who is the owner of the Yellow Rose Vinyards in Punta del Este produced a limited run of Pinot Noir wine for Paul’s personal Stanley Family Reserve for which we designed the label featuring one of Paul's paintings. It was packaged in a beautiful 3-bottle box and gifted to his friends.

About This Project

Our collaboration with Def Leppard started in 2006 when Universal Music hired us to redesign and re-package the band’s three iconic and most successful albums ‘Pyromania,’ ‘Hysteria’ and ‘Adrenalize.’ Around the same time, we also designed the ‘Rock Of Ages’ compilation.

This was followed by us designing the band’s studio album ‘YEAH!’ which consists of recordings of songs the band grew up on. Subsequently, we had a bit of fun with the art by imitating a handful of classic album covers using the band members, photographed by famed rock photographer Mick Rock. The cover was shot in a New York warehouse by our good friend and awesome photographer Clay Patrick McBride. One of the most recent projects was the greatest hits compilation ‘The Story So Far – The Best Of,’ released as 2LP and 2CD along with a cool 7” single!

The Riverdogs project was also very special. In the early 1990s, the band released their debut album, which ever since has been one of Tom’s favorite rock albums. Once we got wind of the band reforming and recording a new album, we contacted Vivian Campbell (see the connection?) and told him that we want to design that album. Kelsey, the drummer’s son, provided us with a lot of great photographs from around Los Angeles. The cover was shot from high above a hiking trail in Griffith Park with a view of downtown L.A. We used to go on many hikes up there with our dog since we lived in nearby Silver Lake. The design is definitely an ode to California.
