- Odds and Ends -

A fun little "side project" we recently designed for Paul Stanley of KISS: His friend in Uruguay, who is the owner of the Yellow Rose Vinyards in Punta del Este produced a limited run of Pinot Noir wine for Paul’s personal Stanley Family Reserve for which we designed the label featuring one of Paul's paintings. It was packaged in a beautiful 3-bottle box and gifted to his friends.

About This Project

The director of this short film, our good friend Ian Truitner, approached us to create the key art for ‘Aix-Hale,’ which was shot in the beautiful city of Aix-En-Provence, France. After I an provided us with a lot of great stills shot on location, it was clear to us that we needed to find that one key image that sums up the film. Not only that, but a stylized direction needed to be determined. It seemed obvious at that point to embrace the color scheme of the Provence and of the city of Aix itself since there is a clear reference in the title itself. We drew additional inspiration from 1960s French movie posters and impressionist paintings. The Aix area is well known for artists like Picasso and Cezanne whose spirit we tried to capture in this poster, at least with a humble approach.

“Aix-Hale” wins best narrative short at the 2022 Festival International du Film Black de Montréal.
